The EBF’s mission is to establish the European Union as the World Leader in Biometrics Excellence by addressing barriers to adoption and fragmentation in the marketplace and by acting as the driving force for initiating, facilitating, supporting and organising activities that bring further the proper and beneficial use of biometrics within Europe and abroad.

The forum is a multi stakeholder non-profit interest group incorporating companies, research agencies, policy makers and user groups.

The EBF is positioned as the European focal point for issues relating to biometric including standards, testing, certification, privacy, R&D, dissemination. The forum also acts as the driving force for coordination, support and strengthening of the national bodies.
